Did I hear someone mention integrity?

In asking himself the question “What would I let myself edit from past days?” Matthew Thomas suggests some tentative guidelines to address what he tactfully describes as the retrospective disappearance of blog entries from Scripting News. His solution: “At the moment I give myself about a week to fix up badly-worded sentences, tyops, stuff like that. And maybe one day I’ll go through and fix up all the places where I’ve used single quotes instead of double ones.” I think Matthew’s on the right track. I personally feel comfortable about reworking, or even amplifying a previous entry. And I’d definitely want to clean up any tyops . But I guess I draw the line at deleting whole paragraphs or drastically altering the original meaning of a post.
