Wimp Lit 101?
My attempt to play both ends against the middle failed. Miserably. Captain Blowtorch recognized me and has me on the watch list (not too close to the top I trust). Not content to question my ethics, he heaps scorn upon my writing, and mocks my taste in literature. And, in the unkindest cut, I stand accused of forgetting my Tutor. Did he not recognize, in my veiled reference to Addison, a coded communiqué that my loyalties remain undiminimished? In the midst of The Terror, one disguises pledges of allegiance with all the ingenuity one can muster. Or would you have it that I find an apposite quotation in a Tom Clancy novel?
