Congratulations!

And now a quick round of congratulations:

Gary Turner has announced that he and his wife are expecting their first baby in early December. (This means that the new Turner will qualify to have a half-birthday.)

Mark Pilgrim (inventor of the half-birthday) just emailed me that he and Dora are now engaged (he popped the question—and, no doubt, produced the diamond ring—after cooking her dinner). Pictures have been promised.

In the cats-and-bags department... I hope Mark and Dora have, like, told their families and everything. 'Cuz if this was a secret, even a temporary one, it's not any more.
