May Rick rest in peace

From Chris Kovacs comes the sad news that Rick Gleason died from injuries sustained in the Bali bombing. Chris wrote about his friend:

You loved this world with a fierce, beautiful, kind-hearted passion, and now you’ve left it, and we are left to grieve, and care for each other, as much as you cared for us.

My deepest sympathy to Rick Gleason’s family and all his friends and my sincere thanks and admiration to Chris for his tireless efforts on Rick’s behalf.

I didn't know Rick, but my friend Derek (now teaching English in Korea) met him and formed a close bond during time and expereiences they sahred in Australia and Vancouver several years ago. It is through my friend and through the outpouring of support I have seen online that I feel the pain of Rick's passing. May you rest in peace, Rick Gleason. My deepest sympathies to your family and dear friends, who are struggling to cope with the enormity and senselessness of your passing.

A response in an old letter, after asking Rick for some wisdom on a problem I was having at the time;
'Living in the moment can be dandy, but having reveries and flights of fancy from strong, brilliant memories is a beautiful talent -one that humans with our great huge brains, possess and that cows don't, na na na- that should not be denied. ie. I have such daydreams myself, and they rock.'
These are Rick's words/quotes of wisdom exactly.
